A 500-bed tuberculosis dispensary was constructed in Astana, featuring a full range of diagnostic and treatment departments as well as comprehensive biosafety systems.
Construction of the 500-bed Tuberculosis Dispensary in Astana has been completed.
The dispensary comprises departments for differential diagnosis, diagnostic imaging (CT, general radiography, and dental radiography), compulsory treatment, endoscopy, treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis, non-bacillary patients, recurrent tuberculosis cases, thoracic surgery, and chronic patient care.
The facility includes a three-theatre operating suite, a post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), an intensive care unit (ICU), and isolation rooms. The site is equipped with vehicle disinfection areas, a dedicated entrance, a patient discharge area with separate stairwells, local wastewater treatment facilities, elbow-operated handwashing stations, and foot-operated drainage controls. Each inpatient room and semi-isolation room is fitted with an independent local exhaust ventilation system to ensure biosafety.
