National Research Center for Maternal and Child Health for 500 beds (Astana)
A 500-bed perinatal center in Astana with obstetrics and pediatrics departments, 8 operating rooms, and a comprehensive suite of advanced diagnostic imaging equipment (MRI, CT, and angiography).
The Center was constructed under the patronage of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and is one of the facilities of the medical cluster.
The Center comprises 35 departments within its outpatient and inpatient services. The inpatient facility has a capacity of 500 beds, including 260 beds for obstetrics and gynecology and 240 beds for pediatrics. The Center has 8 operating rooms and 3 intensive care units with a total capacity of 30 beds.
The Center is equipped with 2 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, a computed tomography (CT) scanner, an angiography system, 7 ultrasound diagnostic systems, and X-ray equipment.
The Center was commissioned in August 2007.
