Hybrid operating room. Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Medicine (Almaty).
MIT has successfully completed a project to establish the first hybrid operating room in Almaty at the Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, as part of the supply and installation of the advanced Allia IGS 7 angiography system manufactured by GE Medical Systems (France).
A hybrid operating room is a high-tech surgical environment where premium mobile hybrid imaging equipment is integrated with a multifunctional surgical table and additional equipment selected according to the clinical profile of the facility.
The capabilities of a hybrid operating room enable surgical care to be elevated to a fundamentally new level.
A hybrid operating room provides:
- high standards of patient safety;
- improved quality and efficiency of work for physicians and medical staff;
- a flexible approach to treatment planning with expanded options for selecting medical strategies;
- the ability to perform new high-tech and unique surgeries, as well as two-stage and multi-stage interventions within a single procedure;
- reduced surgical time through precise planning enabled by advanced imaging capabilities and additional sources of clinical information;
- the ability to quickly transition from minimally invasive procedures to open surgery when required;
- reduced risk of complications in high-risk patients with complex comorbidities;
- optimized costs through reduced anesthesia time, fewer additional surgeries, and shorter postoperative care and rehabilitation periods.
Allia IGS 7 is a next-generation high-tech angiography system specifically designed for hybrid operating rooms and intended for complex diagnostic and interventional procedures involving cardiac, cerebral, and other vascular systems.
Key features and advantages of Allia IGS 7:
- Versatile application — supports a wide range of cardiology and endovascular interventions;
- Superior image quality — innovative imaging technologies provide clear and detailed visualization with minimal radiation exposure;
- Ergonomics and flexibility — the mobile system with a robotic C-arm ensures rapid patient access and comfortable workflow for medical teams;
- Reduced radiation dose — intelligent algorithms minimize radiation exposure for both patients and healthcare professionals;
- Digital integration — supports 3D navigation and advanced planning and control capabilities for surgical procedures.
The implementation of the Allia IGS 7 angiography system will expand the capabilities of the Institute’s medical specialists, enabling complex procedures with enhanced precision, a high level of safety, and maximum patient comfort.
MIT has proven experience in implementing hybrid operating room projects: advanced solutions have been successfully introduced at the Medical Center Hospital of the Presidential Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Astana) and the Emergency Hospital of Semey.
