Brainlab, together with the Department of Neurosurgery of the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and the Kazakh Association of Neurosurgeons (KAN), invites you to take part in the regular meeting of the "Society of Neurosurgeons of Almaty".
In addition to vivid presentations by members of the society, a speech is planned by a guest from the UK — spinal surgeon at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, Marcel Ivanov.
Topic of the presentation: "Navigation in Spinal Surgery".
Marcel Ivanov is the Head of the Spine Section in the Department of Neurosurgery, Lead for Neuroscience Audit, and Director of the AO SPINE Center Sheffield.
In 2017–2019, he was an elected member of the AO SPINE UK Council (Neurosurgery), and since 2019 he has served as Chairman of AO SPINE UK & Ireland.
Mr. Ivanov plays an active role in the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, AO SPINE, and EUROSPINE.
Since 2019, Mr. Ivanov has been a member of the Medical Devices Expert Panel of the European Commission.
His fields of interest include: treatment of spinal pathologies with an emphasis on minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques, with a special interest in the treatment of spinal cord tumors.
