Establishment of the First Hybrid Operating Room in Almaty

MIT Company has successfully completed a project to establish the first hybrid operating room in the city of Almaty at the Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases as part of the supply and installation of the cutting-edge Allia IGS 7 angiographic system manufactured by GE Medical Systems (France).

A hybrid operating room is a high-tech surgical environment where advanced mobile imaging equipment is fully integrated with a multifunctional surgical table and additional equipment selected according to the clinical profile of the clinic.

The capabilities of the hybrid operating room elevate surgical care to an entirely new level of quality.

A Hybrid Operating Room Provides:

  • High standards of patient safety
  • Improved quality and efficiency of physicians’ and medical staff performance
  • A flexible treatment approach with expanded options for selecting optimal clinical strategies
  • The ability to perform new high-tech and unique procedures, including two-stage and multi-stage interventions within a single session
  • Reduced procedure time through precise planning enabled by advanced imaging capabilities and additional data sources
  • The option to promptly convert from a minimally invasive procedure to open surgery when necessary
  • Reduced risk of complications in high-risk patients with complex comorbidities
  • Cost optimization through shorter anesthesia time, fewer repeat surgeries, and reduced postoperative care and rehabilitation

Allia IGS 7 is a next-generation high-tech angiographic system specifically designed for hybrid operating rooms and intended for complex diagnostic and interventional procedures involving the cardiovascular system, cerebral vessels, and other organs.

Key Features and Advantages of Allia IGS 7:

  • Broad Clinical Application — suitable for a wide spectrum of cardiology and endovascular interventions
  • High-Quality Imaging — innovative imaging technologies provide clear and detailed images with minimal radiation exposure;
  • Ergonomics and flexibility — mobile configuration with robotic C-arm provides convenient access and operational flexibility
  • Radiation Dose Optimization — incorporates dose management technologies for patient and staff protection
  • Digital System Compatibility — supports 3D navigation and enhanced procedural planning and monitoring

The implementation of the Allia IGS 7 angiographic system will expand the Institute’s clinical capabilities, enabling physicians to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision, high safety standards, and maximum patient comfort.

MIT Company has a strong track record in delivering hybrid operating room projects, with advanced solutions successfully implemented at The Medical Centre Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Astana) and the Emergency Hospital in Semey.
