Medical waste decontamination department on the basis of the Modular Infectious Diseases Hospital (Astana)
The medical waste decontamination department in a prefabricated modular complex was built on the basis of the Modular Infectious Diseases Hospital in Astana.
The infectious diseases hospital was built in accordance with the decision of the State Commission for Ensuring the State of Emergency under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 15 days. The new medical institution, designed for 200 beds (including 20 for intensive care), is equipped with the most modern equipment.
The method of disinfection used in the department is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and highlighted by the UN as a priority for the disposal of medical waste, which allows you to qualitatively, reliably and safely transfer infectious and harazdous waste to general waste – epidemiologically safe and dispose of them in a general manner.
