Simulation training on the NKV-550 vent
On May 03-07, 2022, on the basis of the Regional Specialized Medical Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk, with the sponsorship of “Medical Innovations & Technologies” LLP, a “Simulation course on respiratory support in intensive care, including in children” was held for anesthesiologists-resuscitators of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The training was conducted by the course director, neonatologist Loais Hugo Carlos, head of the accreditation and simulation center of the NMIC DGOI named after Dmitry Rogachev, coordinator of the GISP International Simulation Group in Pediatrics, instructor of the Spanish Working Group on Respiratory Support in Pediatrics.
Anesthesiologists-resuscitators of the city got acquainted with modern approaches to respiratory support using simulation methodology. This technique allows for a short time without a patient to master the capabilities of medical equipment in various scenarios of the development of the disease.
Simulation training was carried out on a NKV-550 ventilator manufactured by Nihon Kohden. This is a device with expert technological advantages, which, with a large screen (17 inches), user-friendly interface and visualization, transpulmonary pressure measurement options, reveals the features of graphic monitoring in advanced respiratory therapy. Thanks to the support of all modern ventilation modes, including HFNO2, the NKV-550 device can be used at all stages of respiratory support and, according to the seminar participants, is indispensable in the training process.
The cadets expressed their gratitude to the organizers and the director of the course for up-to-date information, acquired knowledge and skills. Doctors highly appreciated the simple and intuitive interface, an impressive list of monitored parameters, visualization of spirometry and volumetric capnography.
The simulation course was held with the organizational support of Kacheganov Fatih Baidarkanovich – Head of the Anesthesiology and Resuscitation and Intensive Care Service of the « Hematology Center » LLP East Kazakhstan region.
