Robotic Technologies in Healthcare of Kazakhstan: Delivery of the Cirq manipulator to Almaty Central City Clinical Hospital
MIT, the exclusive distributor of Brainlab in Kazakhstan, has won a tender to supply the Cirq robotic manipulator for the robotic operating room at the Almaty Central City Clinical Hospital.
Cirq is a portable robotic system that imitates a human hand and provides additional assistance during surgical procedures. The surgeon indicates the direction of the trajectory, and Cirq accurately positions surgical instruments and fits perfectly into the workflows of surgical navigation and visualization. The system is used for biopsy, stereo-EEG in spinal and functional neurosurgery.
The combined use of the Loop-X mobile robotic visualization system and Cirq will provide surgeons with convenient and high-precision visualization for planning, targeting and installing implants. Integration with navigation will increase the accuracy of procedures, reduce the time of operations, reduce the X-ray load and the risk of complications, and expand the range of available microsurgical interventions. Such a complex will allow the department’s work to be brought to a new level, improve treatment results, reduce mortality and disability.
